A Brother and Sister Get an Angel
Hang and her brother were born into poverty in rural Northern Vietnam, a difficult situation for anyone but they also suffer from the loss of both of their parents.
Their mother Bui Thi Hien passed away in 2010 due to blood cancer and their father Quach Van Hai passed away early this year (2021) from liver cancer. Additionally, Hang’s brother suffers from a congenital disease. He may look smaller than his sister in the 10th grade but he is 20 years old. His illness forced him to drop out of school in the 5 grade and prevented him from being able to work.
Both children were adopted by their aunt this year, a very heavy burden. She works 1000 square meters of government farmland to ensure that the family has enough rice to eat. When she can find odd labor jobs she makes 150,000VND ($6.53USD) a day. Unfortunately, due to Covid, odd labor jobs have not been available.
Mrs. Thanh from Ho Chi Minh City stepped in to lift the heavy burden this family is suffering.
Mrs. Thanh has pledged 1mil VND ($43.51USD) a month to help keep Hang in school, pay for books as well as supplement their meals with more than simply rice. Mrs. Thanh’s selfless act of kindness will help this family in so many ways.
